Green capitalism: is it possible? Workers Party public meeting with George Galloway and Tess Delaney on 8 September at 8.00pm

Tune in to our livestream on YouTube, Facebook or Twitter for a weekly public meeting.

This week: Green capitalism: is it possible?

As Extinction Rebellion take to the streets once more, we ask: is it possible to fix the problems of the environment within the system of capitalism? Is making change simply a matter of persuading ‘decision-makers’ to ‘see sense’?

When the biggest polluter on earth is the US imperialist war machine, why is so much energy expended by environmentalists on lecturing the poor about their consumer ‘choices’? How much choice to most workers have really about the goods they buy?

And can the capitalist machinery, geared solely towards extracting maximum profit, be made to behave in terms of human rather than capitalist logic?

WPB activist Tess Delaney will address the meeting, discussing her own experiences of trying to live a sustainable life, speaking alongside Workers Party leader George Galloway on this crucial topic.

How can science be made to serve the interests of the people?
