Online meeting with Q&A: The economics of capitalism: free market or monopoly?
25 August @ 8:00 pm-9:30 pm
This week: The economics of capitalism: free market or monopoly?
We hear a lot about the importance of a ‘free market’, but how is ‘free trade’ impacted by the development of large corporations? Is it possible for enterprises to compete on a ‘level playing field’? How does the existence of huge multinationals affect the workings of government, both nationally and globally?
How did the imperialist stage of capitalism come about? What makes it different from the earlier stage, and what does it have to do with wars and crises in the modern world?
Dr Ranjeet Brar, aka the Moats Medic, will address the meeting, giving an introduction to the basic economics of the capitalist system, and members of the Workers Party will be able to log in and make contributions or ask questions via zoom during the following Q&A.
