Emergency motion to Congress 2025 on Pro-Israeli Politicisation of the Police:
‘Following the arrest of 77 peaceful Palestine demonstrators on Saturday 18th January, and the charging of ten of them for allegedly causing ‘serious unrest’ attempting to exercise their right to protest peacefully outside the BBC. This congress instructs the NMC to investigate and publish a report, to inform party policy and the national debate, on the abuse of terrorism legislation by the UK police forces, particularly the Met. anti-terror branch commanded by Matt Jukes. The report will consider a range of apparent evidence of police perverting the course of justice, which is in the public domain, as follows: 1. Arresting, detaining and seizing contacts/work equipment of pro-Palestinian activists and journalists who promote human rights, 2. Altering laws and procedures to avoid enforcing international arrest warrants for war criminals to visit the uk and blocking private actions to do the same, 3. Changing key legal principles which stop ‘preventing a greater crime’ being admissible in court, and 4. punitively and unlawfully extending the custody of non-violent direct activists because they are pro Palestinian’.
