The Human Rights Act 1998 incorporated the European Convention on Human Rights into UK law with effect from October 2000. No article specifically gives a right to housing.

Some 320,000 eligible households sought local authorities’ help on homelessness.
Homelessness and temporary accommodation have contributed to the deaths of at least 55 children in England since 2019, ITV News.
We Demand
All sitting Worker Party councillors to commit, throughout their tenure, to use current and future legislation, finance and commitment whilst elected to Council, to implement all ;
An increase in funding for legal aid and all public and social care services
End homelessness and reduce the number of individuals living in temporary accommodation in their constituencies.
A commitment from the Workers Party of Britain to implement the Right to Food Campaign.
The Green New Deal will be implemented by installing insulation and fitting of solar energy in all tenancy properties to a minimum EPC rating B, to all new and existing social/ council homes, to meet fire and environmental standards.
Any excess energy produced is to be redistributed to the local community.
A definitive audit by the Workers Party of Britain on current death rates of the homeless and success rates of the provision for all supported living accommodation, care for the homeless in their constituency, the ownership of the land it is situated, the pathway to a lifetime tenancy including the provision for pets and their care.
Update the current licensing scheme and encourage a CIC environment rather than the imposed private and charitable non-profit on Houses of Multiple Occupancy and rental properties and install a Fit For Human Habitation or above standards scheme, on all the private/social rental sectors in the UK for the provision of lifetime tenancies for the able and those with physical and mental health needs.
Implementing higher fines and repossession of properties for those prosecuted landlords, not upholding license duty, including CEOs of all types of living accommodation.
Address the distribution of council tax to help reduce poverty levels, repatriation of empty properties and support, pay and conditions for carers.
Licensing for all private rental tenancy accommodation.
An increase in the number of environmental health officers, committing to a higher enforcement rate on rogue landlords.
Review the current PSPO scheme in our communities
A programme of building with a definitive number of cooperative, Council and Social family/single developments, Community Interest Company -supported living and refuges including the introduction of the Green New Deal and any new fire regulations [after a report in Grenfell enquiry] to all accommodation.
Empty properties are to be brought back into the council/social/cooperative sector for the local homeless, threatened homeless and those on the housing waiting list.
