The Workers Party of Britain salutes the decision by BA workers to take strike action in defence of their jobs, wages, conditions and redundancy agreements.
Management have seized on the pretext of the health emergency to push through pre-existing plans to transform the airline into a low-cost money-spinner, driven by an insatiable greed for ever-greater profits.
To achieve this end, BA wants to fire over 10,000 workers by September, with those ‘lucky’ enough to be rehired locked into zero-hours contracts and the rest fobbed off with cut-rate redundancies.
But BA workers are not minded to meekly submit to this fate, and instead are planning to use their collective power to challenge BA’s plans.
They can count on our support.
